Mathew Cherfane is a student at Drexel University studying Digital Media & Virtual Production. Mathew has always been a gamer at heart; he has built many computers, has met life-long friends online, and has sunk his fair share of hours into his favorite games.
In 2016, a new chapter of Mathew’s gaming life began when he got his first VR (virtual reality) headset and instantly fell in love. He spent his time learning about VR, getting involved in its community, and discovering what this technology has in store for our future. His dream in life is to create immersive experiences for people all over the world to enjoy. When the time came, he applied to Drexel’s DMVP program; a new major focused on cutting-edge technology like VR. Mathew is learning computer animation, 3D modeling, real-time visualization, motion capture, and more. Since then, Mathew knew that this was the right path in his life.
From September 2021 to March 2022, Mathew worked as a Town Hall Ambassador at Comcast’s headquarters in Philadelphia. He spent his time assisting events, giving tours to high-profile guests, and forming a solid network across Comcast’s corporate umbrella. Mathew gained excellent working experience and further developed his interpersonal skills to a professional level.
When he isn’t staring at a screen gaming, Mathew spends his time outdoors with friends and family. Mathew is an avid skier and spends his winters hitting the slopes. He is found at the beach during the summer, soaking up the sun or scuba diving in the depths. You can reach him at mfc85@drexel.edu.
